Set-Up in 2005, the studio / showroom is situated in Brighton's North Laine area.
The studio creates bespoke and made to order wedding and evening dresses that are designed to each client's requirements, and tailored to ensure a perfect fit. The dresses are made from the finest silks, and hand finished and embellished, making them the gowns of choice for the discerning client who wants something other than the usual high-street options. They are available exclusively at the Joanne Fleming Design studio.
Helping clients to realise the look they want to achieve in a relaxed and informal environment, Joanne provides expert and creative advice with a free and no obligation initial consultation. With an extensive range of luxurious fabrics from which to choose, and flexible out of hours appointments available, the service is designed to make the whole creative collaboration between designer and client as enjoyable and stress-free as possible.

5.0 out of 5 | Finding the right dress for my wedding was always going to be a challenge! Having spent many years on the gothic side of life;white, ivory or peach were never going to be an option! Having decided that I would need to have a dress made for me, I found Jo through her website and met her for a consultation.
She was fantastic from day one. She created the most beautiful outfit for me in a stunning claret taffeta. Every fitting was a joy and Jo was genuinely excited and involved in her creation. I was left feeling that she was investing a great deal into me and my dress. Working with Jo was a wonderful experience and she contributed so much toward making me feel wonderful on my wedding day.

5.0 out of 5 | Not really being a ‘dress’ kind of girl, I knew that finding my ideal wedding dress would be a really difficult nut to crack. Having met as mere youngsters at art college in the early 80s, I would be celebrating 25 ‘unofficial’ years with my ‘husband to be’ on August 1 this year so I wanted something very special and preferably vintage but just couldn’t find anything I liked – or that fitted properly. I’d known of Joanne after seeing her at one or two wedding fairs and just loved her style and approach so… I had a look on her website, found a fabulous dress that had actually made me say ‘ooohh’ out loud for the first time ever during my long search and with best friend Clare in tow, went along (for the first of our many Friday afternoon visits) to see Jo at her beautiful studio tucked away in the North Laines in Brighton.
How she adapted the final design from my nervous ramblings about what I liked but didn’t want and how the colour should ideally match my shoes, I’ve still absolutely no idea but the end result was just breathtaking – so much more than I’d ever imagined that it would look like. Despite all the stress and worry I needlessly put myself through, my dress fitted me like a glove and I just didn’t want to take it off – and this is from someone who doesn’t do dresses! The sumptuous fabric, exquisite detail and beading are still an absolute joy to look at time and time again and the craftswomanship is superb. My dress drew so many admiring comments on the day and made me feel like a princess. 5.0 out of 5 | Having tried on many wedding dresses in shops, where nothing really stood out, I decided to vist Joanne who made an amazing wedding dress for my siter-in-law the previous year. She somehow transferred all my ideas into a beautiful sketch, and from then on it was such fun to see the dress evolve and take shape. My trips to Brighton were one of the few really fun things to do amid all the wedding planning stress. The dress was so much more stunning and beautiful than I had ever imagined, and unbelievably easy to wear - I stayed on the dancefloor all night! Joanne's craftmanship and design is amazing, and she is extremely patient. I would recommend her to anyone!! There is nothing quite like having a dress made to fit you exactly. From the minute i first emailled Jo she was helpfull and accomodating, understanding and patient. 5.0 out of 5 | I always knew that I wouldn't get married in a traditional wedding dress but I had no idea how I was going to find the right one... I was so lucky when I found Joanne at a wedding fayre where her dresses stood out a mile from all the usual off-the-peg frocks. Not only is she an absolutely lovely person who listened to every word I said but her designs are works of art - each one totally unique. After a fun and stress-free consultation session when (somehow) Joanne transformed my ideas into a design, she gave me as many fittings as I wanted until I was completely happy. It was absolutely worth the 4 hour journey from Oxford each time. She also made my mother's outfit and my mum loved the whole experience too.
I was particularly impressed at how good Joanne was at making a design that flattered my shape (not easy!). Her dresses are also very good value given the personalised level of service and quality of design and materials - there is just no comparison to off-the-peg dresses, and believe me, I tried a lot of those on before I found her...

5.0 out of 5 | I went to see Joanne shortly after deciding on a wedding date. I was quite nervous on my first trip as I wasn't really sure what to expect but from the moment I went in to the studio I knew I'd made the right choice.
Joanne had an instinctive sense of what I was looking for and translated my jumble of ideas in to a coherent design in front of my eyes. Receiving the design by email was a really simple system and was really helpful in the decision process, as was getting the samples in the post.
It could not have been an easier process and at no point did I feel any pressure to go ahead with the design- it just felt very easy. The design process was really simple (for me!) and enjoyable and I felt that Joanne really understood what I wanted. On the final fitting, when I was being really picky, she even made an alteration in less than an hour that made all the difference to me.
I have recommended Joanne's services left, right and centre and would be happy to do so to anyone that asked!

5.0 out of 5 | I recently had my wedding dress made by Joanne Fleming and could not have been more pleased with the service I received.
Jo was very flexible about fittings (great as I was nipping out from work), incredibly talented and experienced at what she does, every piece of advice she gave me was spot on and the finished article surpassed all my expectations.
Overall the whole experience was fantastic from beginning to end, great value for money and a beautiful dress which was exactly what I wanted and I absolutely loved, I can't recommend Jo highly enough.
