Acara Concepts distribute the award winning and CE marked PhoneStar acoustic insulation board which is made from natural materials and is breathable and toxic-free. PhoneStar sound insulation will meet and exceed the Building Regulations for Sound - Approved Document E, when used as part of simple, slim structures which can be on walls, floors or ceilings. This 15mm thick eco-friendly and high performance board is perfect for soundproofing new or existing properties, both domestic and commercial, and it is a great solution for remedial and retrofit work due to its slim structure and easy installation. It works equally well on masonry and timber frame structures.

The PhoneStar soundproofing board on its own has been certified to reduce Airborne Sound (e. G. Talking, music, traffic noise) by a very high 38 Decibels (dB) (Rw, Ctr = -5). When the PhoneStar acoustic insulation board is then added to a wall, floor or ceiling structure, the overall Airborne Sound Insulation result of the complete structure will be much higher and the higher the Airborne Insulation result (Rw or DnT, w) the better. PhoneStar reduces Impact Sound through floors by a very significant 22dB (delta Lw) when laid on the industry standard concrete test floor. The overall impact sound insulation result of the complete floor and ceiling structure can also be tested, and the lower this Impact Sound Insulation result (Ln, w or LnT, w) the better.

We also distribute Pavatex Wood Fibre thermal insulation softboards and flexible batts which are 100% natural and sustainable, and are suitable for insulating walls, insulating roofs, insulating suspended floors and insulating attics. These breathable or vapour-open boards can be used as sarking boards on the outside of roofs and walls, as well as internally. Pavatex wood fibre external wall insulation can either by rendered to directly or overlaid with ventilated cladding. A major benefit of wood fibre is its very good thermal mass properties which means that the insulation stores heat at the warmest time of the day and releases it later as the building cools. This keeps the building at an ambient, comfortable temperature all year round. Due to its breathable characteristics, internal condensation, humidity and mould growth should be eliminated because the indoor vapour will pass through the wood fibre boards and through the structure so that it can evaporate to the outside. If non-breathable insulation boards are used on solid walls, there is a huge risk of interstitial condensation occurring between the insulation and the wall, as well as rot occurring. So Pavatex wood fibre is excellent when used on the inside of solid walls which must remain vapour-open. Pavatex wood fibre boards also offer excellent acoustic insulation on walls and roofs.

Lignotrend natural timber room acoustic panels reduce reverberation and echo within a room to greatly improve speech clarity and intelligibility. These aesthetically pleasing and sustainable panels are particularly effective in open-plan homes, halls, schools, restaurants and concert venues. Lignotrend panels are NaturePlus certified and are high quality products made from solid silver fir or oak timber with a wood fibre backing as the absorption layer.
