Anne Fontenoy designs hand sewn frocks and gowns from the finest quality materials, especially silks and natural fibres, for customers who appreciate the value of clothes made to order in a small home studio environment, where she also creates handpainted silk scarves, botanical art, digital imagery, hand made Christmas cards and greetings cards.

Anne designs and sews by hand all her wedding gowns and evening dresses as well as hand drafting all the patterns for the dresses she designs. She has a collection of wedding gowns and evening dresses for you to choose from as well as photos of bridal gowns, wedding dresses, evening dresses, ballgowns and special occasion ladies clothes for you to look through. She also has sketch portfolios full of designs for complete dresses as well as sketches of different necklines, skirts, bodices and sleeves for inspiration for bespoke dresses. You can look through these portfolios at the same time as looking through her collections of fabrics which she orders from trade suppliers, so she has huge ranges of materials to make her designs from - silks, laces, wool, cotton, and quality artificial (acetate and viscose) and synthetic (Polyester, Polyamide and Nylon).

All consultations for Anne's handmade gowns and dresses are by appointment only when she will be delighted to show you her bridal dresses and evening gowns and other ladies clothes in her design collection. You can also have alook at her portfolio of embroidery designs and see her collection of handmade accessories, handmade greetings cards, and her fine art.

Appointments take place at her home studio and she is pleased to offer appointments from 10 am to 6 pm week-days and also on Saturdays. Have a look at her website where you can see quite a few of her dress designs and fine art and a=have a look through her online shop where you can buy some of her cards, hand painted silk scarves and bridal and evening accessories.

Anne generally sees clients at her base because that is where her dress collection, portfolios and fabric swatches are stored. Occasionally she can visit clients in their homes are at a meet up in a suitable setting, but there is a call out charge for this plus her expenses such as travel costs. She cannot bring her collection, portfolios or full swatch collections with t=her to outside appointments although she can bring a few of these, and a pencil and paper to make sketches. She can then send further sketches by e-mail and gather up more swatches if need be to show you by post or at another appointment. It is quite difficult to do fittings away from Anne's base because of the risk of creasing the fabric of dresses and gowns while travelling as Anne does not drive. If you live local to Anne she can charge for a cab journey to bring the garment to you for a fitting and if you live further away she can do the same but full travel costs would be incurred.
