Rang Balham Electrical Services in the morning as our bathroom light switch was not working. Philip came out that afternoon to fix it. He was punctual, professional and very good value. Will definitely use him again…. So pleased to have found a good local electrician.

I called BES out on a Sunday to a property I let as the power had completely gone; they were there in less than half an hour, did a first class job and were very reasonably priced. Great company! Can’t recommend highly enough.

The work carried out by Philip from BES Ltd was second to none: great communications prior-to and following-on, lower than anticipated cost, and very high quality of delivery. Philip liaised directly with my tenant when required to arrange dates/time and managed their expectations perfectly. Can't recommend BES strongly enough.

Brilliant service from start to finish. I could not recommend Philip highly enough. I had to swap an old ceramic hob for a new one in my flat, and it was a very tricky job as the old hob was glued to the kitchen surface (! ). But Philip managed to remove it and installed a new one with no problems and everything works perfectly. I am very happy.

I don't normally post such reviews about services received but I shall make an exception here as I was thoroughly impressed by BES last week. About a couple of months ago we had a fault and all our lights on two of our floors failed to work. Three electricians (not BES) later and the diagnosis wasn't good, the wiring was old, the fault couldn't be found and nothing but a total rewire (at a cost of £7k plus decoration) would be required. I decided to have one last throw of the dice and contacted BES. Philip answered and visited within 2 days. Then within an hour and a half Philip identified the fault and fixed it. Philip also recommended the bulbs we should use and also where to buy them. So, how happy am I? What a great job Philip and thanks to BES. Mr Content of Montholme Road.

Philip from BES recently did some essential work in a flat I was renting. Philip fixed everything quickly and professionally and was very helpful in explaining what the problem was (the transformer in the bathroom ceiling had become damp due to a leak and it being left uncovered by previous workers! ) and what he was going to do to fix it. Myself and my housemates found him to be friendly, professional and very hardworking. Would definitely call BES again.

Philip from BES came round to my flat to fix some problems I was having with a previous installation by a different 'electrician'. The previous installation was extremely poor and dangerous in places. Philip was extremely professional throughout the job which was completed to a very high standard, in a short space of time and also provided helpful advice about how to report the previous electrician for the work they did. The works carried out by BES were as follows. - Mounted 2 gang pattress behind t. V socket ran 2. 5mm Twin and earth cable in M2 mini Trunking mounted on skirting into kitchen- Fixed new 2 gang socket behind washing machine and ran cable to connections behind sink to complete the Ring Main- Spured from socket behind washing machine round behind the units and then in M2 mini trunking and installed 2 gang socket on wall behind fridge for fridge and dishwasher- Removed socket from kitchen furniture in cupboard which was supplying fridge socket through plug top and socket on wall for fridge. Reterminated and cleaned up connections behind sink and installed 2 gang blank and removed socket under sink on kitchen furniture. There is now a complete ring- Installed 32 Amp BSEN 60898 Wylex MCB at consumer unit. Tested legs of the Ring Main - Line 0.29Ohms N 0.24 Ohms. Made adjustments at Consumer unit- Removed socket on top of cupboards wrapped in tape. Fixed pattress to wall, Secured socket to pattress using pattress screws. Ran cable to cooker hood in trunking so cable not touching metal work. Made Good and cleaned up.I was extremely happy with the work carried by Philip and the price the quoted was about half the price quoted by another company.I wouldn't hesitate to use BES in the future or recommend them to others.Moreexpand_more

I called Balham Electrical Services Ltd for a quote to rewire my house and, when Phil came to look at the job, I was more than happy with the way he explained exactly what was required and why the work had to be done. The price he gave me for the job beat several other quotes that I’d already had and, once Phil started work, I was doubly pleased with not only his efficient manner but his overall concern that I understood everything that he was doing. Phil was polite, clean and tidy as well as being concerned that he wasn’t disturbing either the neighbours or myself when having to use electrical tools as part of the job. Even when he’d completed the work, Phil took the time to explain all he’d done and I even got a follow-up call a week later from him to make sure I was happy with the work he’d carried out. We lost all electrical power last night (6pm). It was snowing and freezing. We've got a 4 month old son, so we needed to get the power back for heating. I tried a couple of emergency electricians, but they were ridiculously expensive and were not going to be able to get to us for 2 hours. I called Balham Electrical Services and spoke Phil. He said he was on another job, but would be with us asap and reassured me he'd be able to get our power back on. He arrived soon after, identified the problem really quickly and solved it. Given this was an emergency call out on a Friday night, the price was very reasonable and less than half of the other emergency electricians I spoke to. He also gave some very useful advice about getting our electricity supplier to update our fuse system. Phil from BES has been a couple of times to fix probalems with the electrics in our house. He is very courteous, very professional and does an excellent job. He really knows his stuff and does not cut corners. He is friendly, keeps you informed of the problem and is good value for money. A total world away from many of today's rip off tradesmen. I was really impressed and nicely suprised by the service of Balham electrical. Everything in my house simply stopped working at 10pm the other night and I thought I would never be able to get anyone out at this time and worried that all the food in the freezer would have to be thrown out in the morning. I called balham electrical and they were at my door in 20 minutes time and sorted out the problem very quickly aswell as fitted a new fuse, I was also impressed that they had all the parts with them. To top it all off the charge was a fraction of what I expected to pay at that time of night. All in all 5 star service. Simon.

I'd had a problem which over the past two years at least three electricians had taken a look at look at and charged me through the nose for, only for it to reoccur within a couple a weeks. A friend of mine suggested BES, and within a short while a pleasant chap came round, diagnosed and set to work (needless to say far away from where any of the others were). 18 months on, and not a glitch. The pricing for parts and labour was very reasonable too. I would recommend BES anytime. Great work. Many, many thanks.

We have had three different electrical Contractors out to fix a problem with our electrics tripping. All have charged but then the problem has started again soon afterwards and then we have been unable to get any of them to return to sort the problem out. We were given Balham electrical Service number by a friend and they have been amazing. Came out and used an electrical Tester to pinpoint problem to a cable between two sockets. On inspection in the cellar it turns out a mouse had tried to eat a live cable ! ! A new cable was put in and the problem is now sorted. Thank you, Thank you, so much to Balham electrical Services we were seriously thinking of immigrating ! ! We will be emailing the three guilty companies but as we were ubnable to get any of them back out I think refunds are unlikely !

Hi, We have recently moved into a new house and all our Downstairs lights stopped working on a Sunday night of all times! My husband was unable to fix the problem. Philip from Balham Electrical Services arrive with in 30 minutes of calling and had all our Lights working again after about 20 minutes ! The charge was a fraction of what we were expecting on a Sunday Evening. This is probably best Company I have ever dealt with for the speed in which they dealt with our problem. I am not somebody that normally leaves reviews but this Company is well deserving of one !

Philip from BES came around today to install a couple of new sockets and replace a faulty light transformer. Very efficient, friendly, and good quality work. Cleaned up afterwards too. I've used a couple of other electricians before, and have been burned by high rates or jobs taking longer than they should. But BES are not like that. Highly recommended!

We have just completed a full house renovation between the commons (Clapham and Wandsworth) and as a result we have dealt with a lot (i mean a lot! ) of tradesmen. A couple of weeks ago we experienced a problem with some of our electrical circuits tripping and called a local electrician in Battersea. £150 later we were told that there was probably a fault on a cable that was embedded in our hallway wall. The suggestion was that we would have to open up the main hallway wall and basement wall to resolve the problem. After a year renovating this was the last thing we wanted to hear. We called Philip from B. E. S Ltd for a second opinion. First of all he responded to my voicemail within 15 mins. Secondly he recognised the issue, whilst not an emergency, was a problem for us with all bedroom lights out and he fitted us in same day. Within 20 mins of coming into the house Philip diagnosed the problem and within an hour it had been rectified. B.E. Bathroom light was flickering and produced a burning smell, advertised on Freeindex hoping for quick and efficient response. Phil from B. E. S got in contact within half an hour. We spoke about the problem in brief and he provided a quote. I ask for availability at half five that evening which he was more than accommodating with, turned up on time and was brilliant from then on. Really knew his stuff and was helpful in explaining why certain things were happening. Identified and fixed problem straight away while I explained some other electrical related problems, Phil managed to identify and sort them as well. Parts were available straight away and despite having a pre-arranged personal errand to run he was not content until the job was done, which was very reassuring. Brilliant work, friendly service and excellent advice, I would thoroughly recommend B. E. S to anyone and intend to do so!Andrew.

All our kitchen sockets stopped working today and we could not reset them. We found Balham electricial Services on the Trustmark website. Within 20 minutes one of there Electricians was at our home and he had everything working again and had repaired a problem at the socket half hour after arriving. I can not praise the Electrician who came enough, he was absolutely great, I still can't believe how quickly he sorted the problem out. I would recommend to anybody who has a problem with there Electricis.

I was recommended Balham Electrical Services by a friend as they had been very pleased with the substantial work they had had carried out when they moved to their new house. I have been equally impressed! Their electrician was prompt, personable, tidy and managed to update our system with good humour despite being harassed by a toddler and an over friendly labrador! We will definitely use their services again when needed. I can wholeheartedly recommend Balham Electrical Services.
