My son whos now 9, has being playing Drums with Duane for a year now. He had never played before. He looks forward to his lessons, not only is/has he learnt to play the drums Duane makes it fun for him too. Thank you very much. Highly recommended.

I am 44 years young and never had a drum lesson until I started with Duane. By the end of the first lesson he had me tapping along to a backing track something that I thought would not happen for months never mind within the first hour. Wether you wish to learn to drum and achieve qualifications or just for the fun and your own personal achievement Duane is your man !

I have been having drum lessons with Duane for three weeks. I have had previous lesson with another tutor but I have learnt so much more from Duane. Due to my age 54 I was a little nervous but he put me at ease straight away. I really enjoy my lessons as he is very patient and explains things when I don't understand. I would highly recommend Duane. So no matter your age or if your very nervous Duane is an excellent tutor.

I first met duane when he was in a band called guns and oatcakes. He is an amazing drummer and has a huge personality. He now teaches my grandson to play drums at beatsworking and hes already on grade 3. If you are looking for a good drum tutor then duane is the one.

A relaxed atmosphere, didn't feel under any pressure. Its a hobby of mine and Duane is a great help, especially in learning to read sheet music, he is patient, (has to be with me). I first met Duane 4 years ago when my daughter (17 at the time) decided to take up the drums. His enthusiasm for the drums and his skill as a teacher persuaded me to take them up as well. My daughter has since gone to university but I am still drumming and still learning. Duane is a master at making you feel at ease and also at judging when to push and when to just let you have fun. He will also let you choose your own style of music if you wish and is not just exam driven (unless that's your thing). Overall he is someone who has the winning combination of love for his craft and an ability to communicate that and pass it on to others.

I have been having lessons with Duane for just over a year now. Duane soon put me at ease and I was playing a beat in no time! Would recommend Duane in a heartbeat to a beginner or experienced drummer alike. Duane has decades of experience on and off stage, playing live and in studio. I have been taught by Duane for years and never had a dull session. Duane offers the established Rock School exam based grading system of teaching or just a jam to whatever you want sort of teaching track, of which I subscribe to the latter. I simply bring in a track and start to learn it either from existing musical notation or from Duane simply listening to the track and writing the notation straight down from ear. Through this he can analyse your playing style and pick out bits that you excel or lack in and recommend exercises or other tracks that will hone those skills. No other tutors/schools seem to offer the sort of freedom and support that Duane offers to his students, this is why he is a stand out and sort after character in music tuition.

Started learning the drums 8yrs ago with Duane. As a mature lady drummer and really nervous. Duane put me at ease from day one. He is a very professional tutor easy going and goes at your speed and level. His patience is a virtue and would recommend him highly to anyone.

He's a very experienced drummer both on stage and teaching, offering a chilled approach to learning. One thing that is clear to see is Duane's patience, particularly with younger pupils. He constantly offers praise and encouragement and has been instrumental in my sons tremendous progress. He's got a big personality and a great sense of humour. Couldn't give out enough praise, the lessons are definitely at a professional level and lack any of the usual un-friendly vibe. Duane is an approachable person and knowledgeable teacher, after trying multiple places Beats Workin is definitely the best place for lessons in the district.
