James did a fabulous job of repairing our old Victorian floorboards in our hall. They had been destroyed by multiple tradesmen over the years. He successfully removed some boards from another room where he was laying secondary flooring down and resurfaced the old boards by thoroughly sanding them down. He made an excellent job of levelling everything and I can't imagine what he had to do to repair the supports for the boards as the joists were all cut in numerous places. Thankyou for doing a fantastic mess free job. The engineered floor in the downstairs room was fitted to perfection as well with great attention to detail and minimal waste.

James and his team have done a flawless job for us on several projects, including installing our new kitchen and making and installing built-in bookshelves and fitted wardrobes. His skill and attention to detail are second to none and we are always really happy with the results. James is friendly and easy to deal with, and very efficient and neat in his work. We develop and refurbish a number of our properties on behalf of our clients for HMO and non-HMO rental use. James came to our attention via one of our existing landlords and I have to say we where all impressed with how the project turned out. From the start James conducted himself very professionally and that lever of service continued through to the project completion. The project involved relocation and installation of the new kitchen and the full replacement of the bathroom as well as electrics, plumbing, heating renewal/alterations and fire doors etc. Which James and his team actioned in full.

Needed James to floor some of my attic for storage and provide an access ladder, as well as a couple of shelves added in our Kitchen. I actually got a slightly cheaper quote from someone else but went with James due to his obvious attention to detail when assessing the job. His provision of a quote and communication prior to starting the job was excellent and I noted the following things from him doing the job:- High quality work. Everything was done as agreed and to a high standard. - Care/tidying up after himself. Area of our house was spotless after each days work. - Speed/efficiency. Originally aimed to complete in 3-4 days, job took a full 2 days (8. 30am - 5pm). Overall, very pleased and will definitely go to him for future joining jobs.

I asked James to put an access hatch in my kitchen ceiling so that my boiler flu pipe can be inspected by a gas engineer, to comply with new gas regulations. James is a very pleasant guy to deal with. He gave me good, helpful advice about the best way to install a hatch/access panel which would be as inconspicuous as possible. His quote was very good value, he communicated well throughout and did a great job. He's trustworthy and I'd recommend him to anyone.

James laid a new floor in my apartment a couple of years ago and he did so very professionally and with a high attention to quality finishing. This year I asked James to convert my daughters' bedroom by putting in a mezzanine floor and by building a staircase up to the new level. I gave him a pretty vague desription of what I wanted but he designed and executed the work to a very high standard that surpassed my expectations. James fitted a exterior door and put in safety glass in the same door. He also tiled my kitchen. He did an exceptional job, great attention to detail. James installed a new bathroom door for us, replaced the facing around our front door, replaced the fanlight with new glass and a few other joinery jobs in our flat. The work was to create a strong door for a bicycle shed, and put in bicycle stands. The quotation was provided very quickly, the work was done extremely well and quickly, and James made helpful suggestions as to what best needed to be done. Good service, good workmanship. James Birbeck Joinery erected a replacement for a boundary gate/fence for me. The structure is about 4. 5m long by 2. 0m tall. JBJ did the design (security and strength were key requirements) as well as the construction. The installation work was completed in a long day and was finished to a very high standard for priming and painting by others. JBJ interpreted the brief well and once commissioned undertook the work without delay. JBJ arranged the work to fit the client's timing and kept to agreed dates and times.

James installed a new sink and tap and resealed and grouted the shower. Key thing - fantastic service - listened to exactly what we wanted, offered suggestions and gave quotes for different options. Once the job was done James mailed me pictures of what it looked like and billed promptly. Quality of work was great and carried out promptly. Very happy with James's work style and would definitely recommend.

James' workmanship is pedantic to the highest standard. I had my main door replaced by James and the end result was far beyond value for money. He is now 'my' joiner should more things arise in my property and I'd recommend him to anyone.

We were pleased to have the advantage of James's expertise on a number of difficult outside joinery operations : high conservatory window dry rot removal and replacement ; creation and replacement outside slatted wooden vent; restructure/replacement of outside fencing and gate (severe storm damage).
