Ewen renovated an en suite and our main bathroom, bringing both up to a modern high standard. I was happy with Ewen's approach, find him easy to deal with and he carried out the work to a high standard, keeping us informed during the course of the work. Recommended.

At different times during the last year Ewen has renovated the two bathrooms and the kitchen and serviced the boiler in my flat. All of the work was completed in good time, to a high standard and at a competitive price. I recommend GPE Engineers very highly.

Needed to replace old and decrepit electric night storage heaters. GPE was one of the heating installers contacted and Ewen came to the house to do a survey. He was able to offer a range of options which allowed me to select the product which best suited my needs and at a realistic price. The system fitted is economical to run and is far, far better than the awful night storage heaters. I found GPE easy to deal with.

Ewen installed a gas oven and hob in my flat in Edinburgh. He also carried out the annual gas test on a separate visit. I found him to be pleasant and completely reliable. He he did an excellent job, paying attention to detail. I have no hesitation in recommending Ewen Ito anyone.

Whilst Ewen was initially very helpful, he became impossible to contact after newly installed pipework burst and flooded the flat below. He initially stated he would contact his insurers and carry out repair work to the flat below but this never came to fruition. We are now looking at going down the legal route to rectify this issue, which is quite unfortunate. Works done: Removal of cold water tank / installation of new boiler (not commissioning) and installation of new water main into the flat.

Ewen made a great job with our new bathroom, good value for money. He gave some advice, replaced the old shower with a bath, installed a bidet, radiator, new basin and WC; plus flooring and some additional jobs. We believe he does his job very professionally and surely we will call him again in the future.

When I was looking for a new combi boiler and an old gas fire ripped out and be replace with a radiator. When Ewan came to my house for a quote he was very informative and what options of choice of products that was available. The quote itself was very detailed of parts and a schedule of work to be carried out and very competitive in priced. Ewan communication was also very good he would send me updates every so often on how the install is going and when I came around to have a peek Ewan did walk me around the flat to tell me about the what he has done and what he was currently working on and even explains some of the parts he was using also replayed quite quickly to question that I had. The quality of Ewan work was pretty good but however the bathroom had minor damage but considering the size of the install it was to be expected. I would recommend Ewan and have done if you need any work done in your home.

Ewan gave a very competitive and fair estimate for installing a wireless thermostat. He was honest about the amount of work involved; a few other companies I phoned exaggerated the difficulty to inflate their estimates. He was very friendly, knows his stuff, and did a great job. Would use again.

Ewen came to investigate a boiler fault for us just before Christmas. He quickly identified the problem and gave us options on how we could fix it. He then sourced the part for us and fitted it expertly at a time that suited us. I would thoroughly recommend GPE Engineers for any work you might need done. Ewen had to take out and install an ensuite bathroom and a main bathroom. Before the work could begin in earnest he had to remove two floors and two ceilings. Ewen installed damp-proofing, two showers, two sinks, as well as the flooring, ceilings lighting and radiators. Ewen's pipework is second to none and his innovative suggestions to help us achieve the overall look we wanted to achieve were enormously helpful. We recently had Ewen replace our boiler and heating system and were very pleased with the service. He gave great advice and the work carried out was of a high standard. We would highly recommend him and will be using him again ourselves in the future.

Ewen fitted a new Worcester combi boiler for us plus some thermostatic valves and other bits and pieces. Ewen was very straightforward to deal with. He was also very knowledgable, gave us good advice and was very reasonable price-wise. He got the work done as promised and was quick to respond when we had teething problems (not his fault) with the new setup. All up and running now (touch wood) and very happy with the service we received. Would recommend without hesitation.

Has a gas hob fitted just now. Without doubt, the best tradesman I've ever dealt with! Unlike most, was easy to get hold of in the first place, arrived promptly, totally efficient and pleasant. Did all relevant new pipework, cabling and testing, and even took away the old hob, and the packaging for me. Nearly two hours work for one hours price! Very pleased indeed!

We were recommended to speak to GPE/ Ewen by a friend and we're glad we did. We got Ewen to fit our central heating system and decommission the old boiler, storage tank and associated pipe work. He did so quickly, cleanly and patiently, despite lots of questions and tooing and froing. We were so impressed with him and is work, he's coming back shortly to fit our bathroom. Ewen responded very quickly with really helpful and informative estimates for a full gas central heating system well before we had even bought our new house. When we got the keys and got him in to assess the work required his knowledge was impressive and he fully explained all aspects of the work. By sheer chance I came across Mr Ewen McCrindle whilst searching for a qualified engineer to install a new boiler. WHAT A STROKE OF LUCK ! Not only did he fit an excellent system at a reasonable price, but he also demonstrated his ability and willingness to help out in other ways.
