Stayed here for 3 nigts a few weeks ago. Lovely site very friendly people and the fishing pond is great. Very reasonable on price. Out 2 dogs were welcome also. We are now looking to buy out own caravan and keep it here so we can go more often. It has a on site toilet and shower that were always clean. We will be back for sure.
This is my stunning 8lb carp from the weekend at tom and debbies pond the fish are getting really stocky some nice carp appearing on the surfice when the sun is shineing get your self donw fishing if you have a caravan bring it down something you dont want to miss the season is bright the nights are getting lighter the carp are getting hungry come on take a look fetch a friend or two to join the fun I've been fishing hear over 7-8 years and I've met some amazing people from different parts off the county all nice people around everyone talks the place is looked after. The pegs are being re-done its all coming together really well the season off fishing will be 100% dont miss out even fetch the cat dog rabbit even the missis if she doesnt fish she will love the hot sun shine :):).
I went here for a short fishing session on March 4th. The pegs are a bit unusual and could be updated or replaced completely, as their are only a few that are suitable for your fishing box and foot rest. The pond itself is small but is rammed with carp! I was fishing the bomb and maggot feeder with 6-8mm pellets as hook bait and getting a whip round every 10-30 minutes. It was freezing cold but the sport was awesome for this time of the year. If you are fishing on the deck, just be aware of the lily pads which are everywhere so peg choice is vital. I caught Nine fish in total all being carp with the biggest coming out at 8lb. Will be coming back soon to target the tench and silver fish with my son.
We have just returned from a short visit to this site. I really dont know what one of the previous reviewers wanted, but this site is a little gem. The site is very clean and all the pitches overlook the fishing lake. The toilets and shower are kept spotless and warm. All the anglers on the lake were catching regularly, ranging from small roach and perch to skimmers and larger bream to carp. Even though there is a railway line close by, you soon get used to the trains. All in all a great place to be. Thanks to everyone at Horseshoe Pond.
Our 1st visit was 23/9/11 and stayed for 2 nights. We liked it so much we returned for 2 more nights the following weekend. Owners are very friendly and approachable. Toilet/shower facilities are warm and clean. All tourers are sited around the pond which makes it ideal for fishing. Caught some lovely carp and tench. Although the site is situated next to a railway line you soon get used to the trains passing by. Will be returning very soon. We have no hesitation in recommending this site.
We are regular visitors to Tom and Debbie’s site and have been for years. We have met many people on the campsite and have made some good friends. The place promotes a happy atmosphere. Tom, Debbie and their three children Tom, Charlotte and Jack will endeavour to help anyone who visits their site and the regular visitors are also willing to lend a hand too if needs be. I am shocked at the visitor who has left negative feedback on here. They must be particularly picky (more than perfectionists) or just born complainers. It is unjust to make such remarks before giving the people and the place a fair chance. They did not stay long enough to find out and probably the other caravaners were better off for that. Could have spoilt the atmosphere of the place? For what started as a CL the facilities are abundant and there is plenty of space for everyone. Also there is a huge expanse of quiet minor roads, farm lanes and cycle tracks to walk or cycle and explore.Keep up the good work Tom and Debbie. You need praising for the amount of effort you put in it does not look easy. All the BestStu, Helen and Ricky.Moreexpand_more
We arrived on site with low expectations after reading the previous report. The entry to the site is not brilliant but there is a new building being erected and therefore work in progress has to be taken into account. I agree that you have to pass out-buildings and works machinery but this is the countryside and the owners obviously have to work! Once our caravan was set up the view out over the large fishing pond was a delight to see. We, and our friends who were caravanning for the weekend too, enjoyed the peace and quiet, the trains pass by but are gone in a trice and do not intrude on your enjoyment. The pond is obviously popular as there were many fishermen over the weekend and the birds are good to watch too. And we found the owners pleasant and approachable. We also recommend the Bay Horse Inn in Heck - good beer and food served by new management deserves a visit.
We booked in to this site and promptly left it. The photos do not show the size of this place . It was small dark dingy site. The owners were threatening to report us because we did not want to stay here. We tried to be polite about it but they were not happy about our reasons for not wanting to stay. In our opinion the owners need to look at the site and put a correct representation of this site and not bring people here under false advertising. Then there would not have been the need for us to want to leave and avoid being threatened by the owner. The other review can only have been put there by a friend or family member? Very disappointed and a wasted run down to this site. Even the appearance on entering the site leaves a lot to be desired looked like a junk yard, with old caravans. Not our kind of site. Shocked and disappointed customers. .Moreexpand_more
