About Hypnotherapy Training College
Whether simply interested in how the subconscious mind works and how hypnosis can be used - or whether you are interested in studying to become a professional hypnotherapist, the Hypnotherapy Training College runs training courses suitable for you.
The Birmingham-based college was set up in 1978 by David Lesser, the founder of curative hypnotherapy. All tutors are qualified and established therapists with many years of experience in the practical application of hypnotherapy tools and techniques which are taught and demonstrated on the courses.
The college prides itself on the many and varied resources available to graduates, to help them start up and run successful practices - clinical supervision, networking, conferences, workshops and an invaluable online knowledge Base are just some of the wide range of mentoring/coaching opportunities available to all students and graduates.
Courses are available for those with no prior training/experience and also for those with training/qualification in other hypnotherapy methodologies who wish to extend their skill-set.
All techniques, methods and explanations are demonstrated live, by providing treatment to genuine clients.
This, along with the supervised practise of the techniques, ensures students have the knowledge, understanding and confidence to apply the techniques in practice.
Individual guidance and regular feedback is provided to each student throughout the course.
Support and other resources are available to help in the setting up of practices and clinical supervision is available during training and after graduation to maintain professional standards.
All examinations are externally validated and graduates of the Hypnotherapy Training College are eligible to be licensed as an LCH practitioner and for membership of :-
+ National Hypnotherapy Society.
+ Hypnotherapy Association.
+ General Hypnotherapy Register.
+ Council for Complementary and Natural Healthcare.
The college is run by Helen Lesser, an accredited practitioner and registered supervisor, who has been in practice as a hypnotherapist since she initially qualified in 1982, she became steadily more involved in training others since the late '80s.
During her years in practice, Helen has significantly extended the boundaries and understanding of the theories underpinning curative hypnotherapy and has developed techniques and training methods which greatly facilitated the learning of curative techniques, making the application of the therapy accessible to far more people. Eventually, Helen took over as principal of the college in 2001.
