John and his team designed and fitted a wardrobe for me, which was in a very tight space. He was very thorough and professional, making sure it was created exactly to my requirements. The wardrobe is perfect and done for a very fair price. After they left there was a slight problem with one of the hinges, but they came out straight away to fix it. I can highly recommend these guys!

Our local carpenter, he’s done loads of jobs for our coffee shop, building shelving units, sorting out tables, etc and his work is fantastic. He’s very experienced and knowledgable. Most recently he has finished our new table tops (sprayed with a lovely hardwiring finish), and they are AMAZING. He also helped us when we were restoring our stained glass windows, lots of tips about best ways to remove the paint etc…. He’s a lovely guy! Thanks John x.

John has made some beautiful pieces of bespoke built on furniture over the last 10 years, and today he had finished installing the most wonderful hallway piece. John has done several projects for us, the latest being a set of built in cupboards in a bedroom. Again very pleased with the results, worth waiting for! Kept us up to date with timings and delivered exactly what we asked for.

John fixed our table for us after it had been damaged in a house move. He came to our house and took away the broken piece to fix. He also fixed another fault at a later date. We wanted bookshelves and cupboards to cover the wall of our lounge. John discussed our requirements and made many helpful suggestions along the way. We enjoyed the whole process and we're delighted with the final result.

John make a fabulous window seat for our bedroom. It is beautifully made and everyone comments on it. We love sitting on it, drinking coffee and chatting. And it makes excellent storage too. John listened to what we wanted and made the perfect window seat for us.

I picked John from a web search not having had any dealings with him previously. At our first 'Consultation' I was impressed with his approach, ideas, professionalism so much so that I decided not to approach any other cabinet makers. John made sure we were totally happy with the design and made numerous visits before the final design was agreed. Gill and Claire then spent two days meticulously fitting the cabinets and floating shelves into the large alcoves. Would recommend to others.

A first class job done by a first class cabinet maker. We were both extremely pleased with how John fulfilled what we wanted in our alcoves in the dining room, ie. Traditional hard wood bookcases/cabinets fitted into 2 alcoves with bespoke fittings for our much loved hifi system. Also, it was very refreshing to find someone who was prepared to make the necessary 120 mile return journeys to where we live to carry out the work. We would certainly recommend John for any standalone or built-in furniture project you may have and are of the opinion that cabinet makers of John’s calibre would be very hard to find.

We recently had shelves and cupboards built into the alcoves of our dining room fireplace. They are exactly what we asked for; contemporary, stylish and functional but not out of place in an Edwardian house. They were painted in our choice of Farrow and Ball paint and finished to a high standard. The professional approach, the design choice and advice, coupled with exceptional carpentry cannot be bought off the peg, yet the value for money is amazing. I cannot recommend them highly enough. This is a local skilled talented tradesman that delivers an outstanding product. John works well with your vision and makes suitable suggestions with material and finish. He is very good at working around a schedule that suits the needs of the customer. We have had a bathroom. Wardrobe and bookcase made all painted in Farriw and Ball - and at such a realistic cost ! Very highly recommended for those even thinking of IKEA - think again - it is not as expensive as you think !

I have had a shelving system installed by Mr Beswick and his team. I found the service thorough and professional, and I am very happy (and relieved) with the result. In this day and age of sometimes quite good products and indifferent workmen, I can highly recommend this team of craftsmen and intend to have more work done.

John has produced several works of fine craftsmanship over the years for us, including a window seat, an oak wine-rack which had to be built into a difficult space in the cellar-a beautiful bookcase built around a doorframe on the landing, other bookshelves, deep oak skirting, door frames etc. The most recent project was an entire wall of book shelving in lacquered oak with a desk and a piece of stained glass incorporated into it with burr wood edging and marquetry. John will discuss a project at length with you and quietly suggest all sorts of ideas which you wouldn't have thought possible! -to create something really beautiful. Our house is a late Victorian semi and John has created pieces which give us our own little corner of Downtown Abbey! But he is equally as adept at creating modern pieces to suit any age and style of home. We consider ourselves very lucky to have found John-he and his team are the kind of craftsmen you don't think exist any more-and our home is all the more beautiful because of him.

We are so pleased with our new bespoke cabinet/shelving, the quality of work is excellent. What a difference it's made to our room and we get so many compliments. John and his team are a pleasure to work with. Job well done!

When I decided to install fitted cupboards and shelving in the two 5 ft-ish wide alcoves in my dining room, I wanted them to look as if they had always been there, matching as far as possible the original fitted storage in other rooms of the house (which was built in 1900). John was very patient during the design process, suggesting different possible configurations of the cupboards and drawers, always answering emails quickly and making repeated visits with alternative mouldings, wood finishes etc. Once the final decision had been made, manufacture and installation progressed swiftly and smoothly. I am thrilled with the result. The cupboards have totally transformed the room - my only problem was being frightened of spoiling them by cluttering them up with books and stuff.

After looking for a ready built display and storage unit for a 2. 2 Metre x 1. 6 metre alcove in our living room and not being able to find one on the internet, we decided to look at having a bespoke unit built. We searched for local companies in our immediate area and found that there were several capable of manufacture said units. However, we chose the company of John Beswick Cabinet Makers, firstly because of the same day response to our telephone conversation and same day personnel visit to our home to discuss our requirements. As explained to us the unit would take 4 to 5 weeks from approval of design and drawing. We were kept fully informed and as promised the unit was ready for installation precisely four weeks later. On the installation day (we had already been informed and introduced to the team of William and Joe) two very polite and professional young men, they immediately cleared the work area and protected our wooden floors throughout. They worked continuously until the unit was fully completed to a high standard. What was once an ok alcove space with a small book case has been transformed into an eye catching display unit.
