Luke and his team have completed a number of jobs for me over the past couple of years. So friendly, easy to deal with and great communication. He has relaid my roof, removed a window, fixed the guttering. Always explains what’s needed and sticks to the quote, never any hidden costs. Luke is always my first go to for any building work, I’d happily recommend him.
Luke and his company did an excellent job on converting an old out building to a new office/play room. They also built a wooden gazebo from scratch to put a hot tub in. The job was really well done in a short space of time. Luke and his team are reliable hardworking men, and we will welcome them back to do many other jobs that need doing.
Having recently bought a house with a large but unruly garden I decided to get the garden improved so it's ready for spring. I came across this company on free index and was intrigued by the photos I saw and encouraged by the reviews, so arranged a quote. Luke was out to see me quickly and after meeting with him he seemed confident he could carry out the work satisfactorily. The quote supplied was slightly less than I had budgeted and a lot less than the other quote I'd had, so gave them the job. They started work promptly and I was amazed that the were here before I left for work each day yet still working when I arrived home they even worked one Saturday! My garden has been transformed from slippery decking leading to a sloping piece of patchy grass flanked by unkempt boarders to what can only be described as a masterpiece. It's now three tiered, a patio replacing the decking stepping down to two lushly turfed sections of lawn with a retaining wall between them. The boarders are now raised flower beds my wife couldn't wait to get planting in and the sagging fence has been replaced. I'm pleased to now have a flat outside space as the garden had fell away from the house quite drastically before. What I wasn't expecting was the centerpiece they came up with. The rest of the garden was to my specification as I'd requested but I had asked for a centerpiece but giving them free reign. They built a hexagonal raised flower bed with a bench running round the circumference. This was all done within the original budget. I'm so pleased I've already had a quote for a small extension which was presented very professionally mocked up in 3D on computer and am currently awaiting planning permission. The wife's over the moon as the garden is chiefly her domain and we're both looking forwards to having gatherings in summer. If your looking for a quality, trustworthy building company look no further.Moreexpand_more
Luke at Bristol and Bath Building Concepts is my ‘Go-To’ man for virtually anything that needs doing around my home and garden! He is polite, reliable and very capable, as are his team, and always a good price. I can’t recommend him enough. The first job he did for me was to take down a wall between our sitting room and dining room to open it up. He also took on the awful filthy job of removing the plaster from 2 chimney breasts to expose the bricks – which were also sanded, sealed and re-pointed – emerging each day from the sealed off room completely covered in black dust except for where his goggles and mask had been! Once the plaster was removed we found that one of the brick fireplace arches had been mended in the past with a big piece of ugly concrete. Luke was able to source identical red bricks and re-build the arch. They both look stunning now!
I decided to use Bristol and Bath Building concepts having seen a garden of a friend that was landscaped by them. I was very impressed with the garden, and I found out they also do driveways, extensions and much more. So I gave them a call. I am one of these people who try and do everything themselves and find it hard to trust a tradesman - I have had a few bad experiences and sometimes feel ripped off or that they have not done a good job. However, Luke and Simon at Bristol and Bath Building Concepts have renewed my faith in honest, hardworking, dedicated and professional tradesmen. Initially they quoted at what I thought sounded like a very reasonable price. Then they proceeded to lay the driveway in all weathers - baking 30+ degree heat and torrential thunderstorms. They were punctual, polite and genuinely real nice guys when having a chat - I had no hesitation giving them a house key when we were out. In addition their communication is excellent - I always knew what days they would be working. Finally it is important to add that they have a particularly good attention to detail. For example, part of my driveway adjoined a vegetable patch. The guys built a nice little retaining wall using some of the leftover pavers to avoid the soil spilling onto the driveway - a nice little touch. See the attached photo to see how nice it looks. I have since got quotes for several much larger bits of work on my old 1820s house, including underpinning foundations, re-rendering the outside of the house, and completing a full double storey extension. I plan to do these things in due course and will report back here on my experiences. If you are in any doubt about Bristol and Bath Building Concepts, fear not. These are the guys for your job.Moreexpand_more
