Every person is unique, and their lifestyle, daily habits and work will be reflected in their posture.
Pilates4Good has an expanding network of clients, located in East Finchley, Highgate and Muswell Hill. By starting off new clients with private lessons Deanna is able to create an exercise programme exclusively for them. An added dimension to the programme is given by working with the Pilates machines, which will give many additional benefits as well as quicker results.
Pilates4Good is taught by Deanna Wisbey, who, following a previous career in Art and Fitness discovered Pilates after an injury.
Recognising the immediate benefits to her posture and strength, as well as enjoying the artistry of the method, led her to train with Body Control Pilates in mat and machine work.
Deanna is a fully qualified teacher in both mat work, and in the Pilates reformer and other equipment and also offers the new Back4Good programme, specifically designed to help with persistent low back pain, Pilates for the elderly, and a programme for both pre and post natal pregnancy.
Deanna has been teaching in East Finchley since 2000, and has taken many referrals from Physiotherapists and Osteopaths, as well as working with a wide variety of clients.
What the pilates method is: a series of movements, at first seemingly simple, but that continuously develop to challenge the person who performs them. The aim of the movements is to use every muscle and joint in the body, in every position, in this way the spine becomes lengthened and strengthened, (by use of the abdominals), joints move through their full range, so become less stiff, and painful, the whole body becomes more supple and toned.
Learning concentration and breathing skills help in achieving these results. You'll get to know your body, and you'll be amazed at how fascinating this Pilates workout process becomes.
Deanna has taught clients from age range 10 to 85 years, and the method still helps, regardless of age.
