The sales manager Paul was very professional and helpful. The severely paranoid and psychotic owner however kept pacing up and down disturbing us during our stay banning children from the store and behaving in an eccentric way. When I stood up to it, he asked the manager not to sell anything to me. We have obviously gone to a better store by the train station where people behave normally.
Response : In these very unpleasant times, all businesses must follow both the legal requirements (for social distancing etc), and any other specific measures that may be in place for the wellbeing of their customers and staff. Among various other measures, we ask that people stay at least 2 metres away from our staff, and, that all children should remain in their car. We display many signs to this effect. I am duty bound to ensure that our premises are as safe as possible with regard to covid-19, and I would be negligent to all who visit us if I allowed our safety measures to be ignored, purely to make a sale.
If a customer enters and ignores these measures by standing too close and bringing children in with them, then I feel justified, not paranoid, psychotic or eccentric, for asking that they heed our requests. However, we will refuse to serve anyone whose response is one of repeated and highly audible profanity and personal insult, as was the case in this instance.Moreexpand_more
