Founded in 1987 by Philip Pinel, Storage Equipment Safety Service Ltd (SESS) is recognized as the only fully independent, professional rack safety inspection company serving the UK, Ireland, and Europe. With a sole focus on safety, we are able to provide a uniquely specialized service. Our team of inspectors, each with extensive experience in the storage equipment industry, conducts inspections in strict accordance with BS EN 15635:2008.

SESS is proudly affiliated with the Storage Equipment Manufacturer’s Association (SEMA) and HSE and holds individual membership in the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). Since September 1990, our commitment to quality has been consistently validated, initially under BS 5750 Part 2 and currently under ISO 9001:2015, Certificate No FS 10668. Over the years, we have undergone and successfully passed numerous re-assessments.

Our rack safety inspection includes:

Detailed Report: On the condition of your racking and shelving, prepared according to SEMA and current codes and guidelines.
Risk Assessment: Identifying each damaged component and its risk level using the SEMA classification system.
Warehouse Evaluation: Assessing the safe working condition of your warehouse, considering factors such as housekeeping, pallets, floor condition, lighting, and forklift operations.
CAD Layout Drawings: Where possible, we provide CAD layout drawings of your racking installation, utilizing your site’s racking location system.
