About Stuart Thomas Ecological Associates
Stuart Thomas Ecological Associates have over sixty years of collective experience between them. We undertake ecological surveys and advice to a wide variety of clients for on and offshore developments throughout the UK. The organisation, which is based near Oswestry, was established in 2003 and has been operating very successfully for 20 years.
Helping clients to plan and mitigate for wildlife within their projects, the consultants provide developers and larger consultancies with highly experienced survey capabilities.
With significant experience, knowledge and a range of experienced associates, most species can be surveyed, mitigated and compensated for.
We have a very wide and diverse client base, located across the UK. Clients have included: AMEC Ltd, ESS Ecology Ltd, ERM Ltd, West Coast Energy Ltd/Atmos Consulting, Ecotech, JNCC, Hull University's IECS, Aberdeen University, RPS, SLR Consulting, BSG Ecology, Baker Consultants as well as numerous private developers.
The consultancy is run by Stuart Thomas who has worked within the ecological and wildlife management sphere since 1996. His previous roles include habitat management work for Shrewsbury Borough Council, bird survey work for the RSPB as well as three years as warden on the Farne Islands NNR, Site Manager for Scottish Natural Heritage on Noss NNR and Site Manager for on the Ayres NNR for the Manx Wildlife Trust.
He also worked for the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service in Alaska.
We are specialists in ornithological surveys for renewable and non-renewable energy developments. We've provided survey and assistance to well over 100 onshore wind farm developments, 20 offshore wind developments. We are holders of Natural Resources Wales and Natural England bat and great crested newt survey licences and can assist in planning applications for developments as well as mitigation plans and/or method statements.0 FreeIndex Reviews
