The black spots that grow on your garden stonework are actually spots of Black Lichen. These Lichen feed off the minerals within the stone, once they have exhausted an area of all its minerals they grow in search of more, growing not only across the stone but down into the pores effectively anchoring themselves making them almost impossible to remove with other products or pressure washing alone. The Lichen grow approximately 2mm a year but have different growth habits on a variety of different stones.

Patio Black Spot Remover will penetrate deep into the pores of the stone and roots of the black spot killing the Lichen from the root up. Patio Black Spot Remover will not only remove these stubborn black spots but will also kill all the spores and leave your stonework looking as good as the day it was laid, totally restoring those bright vibrants colours it once had.
Unfortunately these Black Lichen spores are constantly landing on your garden stonework and have a 2 year germination period, so to prevent any regrowth you must use our Patio Black Spot Preventer annually, at a fraction of the price. Applying the Preventer will kill any spores that have landed over the last 12 months and will also remove any green surface algae without the need to pressure wash.
